Akhil K G is a Sales Engineer at Daily, specializing in WebRTC, live video, and EdTech. With a background in engineering and sales, he has a unique perspective on the video industry. Akhil has been working with video since the beginning of his career and spent over two years as a developer for open source projects in the Linux desktop ecosystem. During this time, he extensively worked with low-level multimedia frameworks like MLT as part of Kdenlive, one of the most popular free and open-source video editors. Previously, Akhil founded GitLit, a platform to help college students contribute to free and open-source software, build an open work profile of commits & pull requests, and gain actual software engineering skills that are otherwise not realized in Indian engineering courses. At Daily, Akhil wears multiple hats working at the intersection of sales and engineering efforts. His work primarily involves working with and expanding Daily's customer base in India. Daily offers live video APIs that allow users to host 1:1 to large interactive group video calls, webinars, or live stream to unlimited audiences with a few lines of code or build their own custom UI with their SDKs. Akhil's past experience includes running Growtra, a lead generation agency, where he offered early marketing & sales services via LinkedIn automation & email campaigns. He also co-founded GitLit, an end-to-end upskilling platform with FOSS as its engine from learning to code to getting hired. Akhil holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Amrita University. His technical skills include UI design, and he has 4.69 years of relevant experience.
